Real estate management company in Irvine, California wanted to improve the quality of light in their parking garage by upgrading their existing HPS fixtures to a more visually appealing and energy efficient LED solution. The new fixtures made it possible to provide added security by creating an inviting parking environment while at the same time reducing energy usage and cutting down on electricity costs.
FSC Lighting’s L6000 Series Radial Wrap replaced the 100-watt (129 system watts) high pressure sodium garage light fixtures throughout the parking structure, reducing lighting costs by 78%. Following the replacement of the HPS system with FSC’s 28 peak system watt L6000 Series L-Bar Radial, this major real estate management company was able to use 327,361 fewer kilowatt hours (kWh) per year, savings of approximately $47,467 annually.
CA Title 24
In addition to massive energy savings, the client’s project qualified for local utility rebates and met the new CA Title 24, 2013 requirements. By installing a programmable remote control sensor on each fixture, the parking garage was easily commissioned. Fixtures located on above ground parking levels near the building perimeter are now turned off during the day when sufficient natural light levels are available. This is done via the internal photo cell in the sensor. The remaining fixtures in the application go into step dimming mode when the space is unoccupied (100% down to 25% of full light output).
