Food Storage Warehouse

Las Vegas, NV

The Situation

Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, looking to reduce increasing maintenance and energy costs recognizes that replacing obsolete light technologies and retrofitting dim T12 fluorescents with a greener LED option will deliver bright, high-quality light, while helping reduce energy consumption and costs. The current lighting was dingy, making it difficult to see and conditions less safe for employees.

The Solution

FSC Lighting’s L8500 Series LED Strip was chosen to replace T12 fluorescent fixtures throughout the warehouse, dropping lighting costs by 70%. Lighting energy usage was cut by more than 318K kWh per year; a total savings of $31,862 annually. In addition to the direct lighting and maintenance savings, the facility can benefit from installing a cooler light source, which often times reduces HVAC costs. The key to longevity is proper thermal management; individual heat sinks on the L-Bar provide a rated life of 203,000 hours and have the ability to withstand the demanding 24/7 run time in Las Vegas heat. The difference between the existing T12 strips and FSC’s LED solution was noticeable immediately; the quality of light was drastically improved from a dreary yellow to an aesthetically pleasing natural white.
